A lovely visit from the boyfriend

Hi guys! I hope everything is going well? I am very excited to write this post, as I had an amazing weekend with my boyfriend and I cannot wait to share it with you. Also, I can’t believe it is already november!

Okay, so here goes the story about our weekend together in Rotterdam. Ben, the boyfriend, arrived at Rotterdam CS on Friday evening. We went straight to CitizenM, the hotel we had booked for the weekend, to drop off Ben’s luggage. Afterwards we went to my dorm room because I still had to pack my stuff, but also to show Ben where I had been staying in the past few months!

After we also dropped off my luggage at the hotel, I showed Ben the Kubuswoningen and we wandered around the Markthal for a while. We decided to have dinner at Elliniko, the Greek restaurant I had already been to before (and quite liked).

On Saturday we woke up early to go to Scheveningen. We went to see some statues at Beelden aan Zee on the boulevard, we walked down the beach and the Pier, went to Sea Life, and went to both Hommerson Casino and Holland Casino. I really wanted to go and play Glowgolf as well, but there was a children’s party going on and we both don’t really like all the noise and confusion of 30 children running around so we decided not to. Oh well.

On Sunday we decided to go to Diergaarde Blijdorp, the zoo here in Rotterdam. I was really impressed by the polar bears, the Amur leopard and the Dalmatian pelicans. I am not sure, but I think it was the first time that I saw any of these animals in my life! Unfortunately I was so impressed by the polar bears that I forgot to take photos of them, but they were gorgeous (and hilarious playing with their toys).

In the evening we had dinner reservations at Little V, a Vietnamese restaurant here in Rotterdam. The food was really good, and the cocktails might have been even better, haha! I definitely recommend this place.

The lovely elephants at Diergaarde Blijdorp shortly before we ran away because they started throwing with branches, haha. We didn’t think they threw the branches at us intentionally, we personally thought they were throwing them in the trees next to us because then leaves would fall off for them to eat. Anyways, they seemed to love attention and it was funny to see them doing this, but we left as it got a little dangerous (she started throwing heavier branches after this one – with great force).

On Monday I had to leave Ben in the bar of the hotel for a while because I had classes in the morning. In the afternoon I went back to pick up Ben at the bar, and we moved our luggage to my dorm room.

We walked around the Markthal again, and went to Sumo for an early dinner. For both of us, it was the first time we went to an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. We both liked it and ate waaaay too much. Afterwards we went back to my dorm to just lie down for a while, and then I brought Ben back to Rotterdam CS. He ended up staying the night with some friends in Antwerp to go out, I just went to sleep as I was tired from eating too much, haha. And that was our weekend!

Bye for now! Lots of love,
